Maple Bacon Yam Poutine
Poutine made with Mae’s Maple Garlic and Maple bacon. A Canadian classic uniquely made.
Ingredients
- 2 yams
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Maple Garlic
- 2 - 3 tbsp olive oil
- 6 pieces bacon diced
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 5 oz cheese curds
- 3 green onions thinly sliced
- Gravy:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups stock chicken, beef or vegetable
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp granulated onion
- 1 tsp kitchen bouquet
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F. Cut yams lengthwise into French Fries and toss with Mae’s Maple Garlic and olive oil. Bake in preheated oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Meahwhile, make gravy: in a medium saucepan on medium heat, melt butter then add in flour. Let cook for 1 - 2 minutes. Slowly add in stock until thickened. Add in garlic, onion, and kitchen bouquet*. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
- Bacon: in a frypan over medium - high heat add bacon and fry until cooked. Add maple syrup and cook just until syrup is cooked into the bacon, about 1 minute and set aside.
- Assemble: on a large plate place yam fries and top with cheese curds, gravy, bacon and green onions.
- * You can find kitchen bouquet in the spice aisle of your grocery store.
