Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Chicken made with Oma's Fried Chicken Seasoning and marinated in buttermilk to make very juicy chicken. Great served with a Garden Salad and Potato salad.
Ingredients
- 6 - 8 chicken thighs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp Mae's Oma's Fried Chicken Seasoning
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Mae's Oma's Fried Chicken Seasoning
- canola oil
Instructions
- Stir together salt, Mae’s Oma's Fried Chicken and oregano. Coat chicken with this mixture. Then coat with buttermilk. Refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Stir together flour and second amount of Mae’s Oma's Fried Chicken. Remove chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the seasoned flour. Shake off any excess flour.
- Heat some oil in cast iron. Cook chicken over medium – high heat about 3 – 5 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- Then place in oven and cook for 20 minutes, flip and cook for another 20 minutes.
