Maple Habanero Wings

Chicken wings in a glaze made with Mae’s Maple Habanero. For a light meal serve with veggies and dip or a green salad. Also great  for an appy night.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 large onion, diced
  • 4 - 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Mae's Seasonings Maple Habanero
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 350 F.
  • Clean wings and pat dry. In a large bowl mix together chicken wings, paprika and oil. Transfer wings to a baking sheet and bake for 40  - 45 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the glaze. In a small pot, combine onion, garlic, water, vinegar, lime juice, Mae’s Maple Habanero, ginger and salt. Cook on medium  - low heat for 10 minutes; then process using a hand blender. Let cool down about 20 minutes. Then add in maple syrup and honey.
  • When wings are fully cooked add some oil to a large skillet over medium  - high heat. Once hot add wings and cook until lightly browned, about 3 minutes per side. Reduce heat to low and add glaze. Cook until the glaze coats the wings. Transfer to a serving platter.
