Layered Taco Dip
A great appetizer recipe using our Chili Taco Seasoning. This is a great dish to bring to a potluck or for a games night. Serve with tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1/2 head garlic minced
- olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (14 oz) refried beans
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Chili & Taco
- 1 pkg (250 grams) cream cheese softened
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 1 can (127 ml) green chilies
- 1/2 jar thick salsa
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
- 3 green onions sliced
Instructions
- Cook onion in oil in lightly browned then add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Mix together water, cornstarch and Mae’s Chili & Taco and cook on low for about 10 minutes or until thickened.
- Mix together cream cheese and sour cream. Stir in green chillies.
- In a 9 x 9 inch baking dish put in cream cheese mixture and smooth out with spatula. Top with beef then beans.
- Top with salsa, cheese, lettuce then green onions. Serve with tortilla chips.
