Layered Taco Dip

A great appetizer recipe using our Chili Taco Seasoning. This is a great dish to bring to a potluck or for a games night. Serve with tortilla chips.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 head garlic minced
  • olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (14 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Mae’s Seasonings Chili & Taco
  • 1 pkg (250 grams) cream cheese softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 can (127 ml) green chilies
  • 1/2 jar thick salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 3 green onions sliced

Instructions
 

  • Cook onion in oil in lightly browned then add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.                                                                 
  • Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Mix together water, cornstarch and Mae’s Chili & Taco and cook on low for about 10 minutes or until thickened.              
  • Mix together cream cheese and sour cream. Stir in green    chillies.                                                                                          
  • In a 9 x 9 inch baking dish put in cream cheese mixture and smooth out with spatula. Top with beef then beans.
  • Top with salsa, cheese, lettuce then green onions. Serve with tortilla chips.
