Marinara Sauce
Marinara Sauce using Mae’s Smoked Marinara Seasoning. This can be used in a lot of Italian dishes like lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan to name a few ideas.
Ingredients
- 1 onion diced
- 4 - 6 garlic cloves minced
- 1 can 156 ml tomato paste
- 1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 can 14 oz tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp Mae's Smoked Marinara Seasoning
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Saute the onion until softened, about 5 – 7 minutes; then add garlic and cook for another 1 – 2 minutes until garlic is fragrant.
- Add in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Mae’s Smoked Marinara Seasoning, sugar and salt.
- Mix together and simmer for at least 1 hour.
- Puree with a hand blender to get most of the tomato chunks. Not all if you like a chunky sauce.
- Use in Italian dishes.
