Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce using Mae’s Smoked Marinara Seasoning. This can be used in a lot of Italian dishes like lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan to name a few ideas.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 onion diced
  • 4 - 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 can 156 ml tomato paste
  • 1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 can 14 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mae's Smoked Marinara Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Saute the onion until softened, about 5 – 7 minutes; then add garlic and cook for another 1 – 2 minutes until garlic is fragrant.
  • Add in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Mae’s Smoked Marinara Seasoning, sugar and salt.
  • Mix together and simmer for at least 1 hour.
  • Puree with a hand blender to get most of the tomato chunks. Not all if you like a chunky sauce.
  • Use in Italian dishes.
